A contra-indication is any condition or factor that may restrict or prevent a treatment from being performed, as it could pose a risk to the client or therapist. These contra-indications can be permanent, temporary, or specific to certain areas of the body.
While we ask all clients to complete a medical history and consultation form when booking an appointment, we kindly request that you notify us in advance if you have any of the following conditions. This allows us to discuss your situation and, if necessary, adapt or reschedule your appointment to ensure your safety and well-being.
Please note, the list below is not exhaustive. If you are uncertain about your suitability for a treatment, we recommend consulting your GP for further advice.

· Recent laser Eye Surgery (within the last 6 weeks)
Restricts Treatment
· Claustrophobia - You will be required to close your eyes for around 45 minutes.
· Contact lenses – ensure removal before procedure.
· Pregnancy – not within the first trimester
· Dry Eye Syndrome (requires a GP Referral)
· Post Chemotherapy (requires a GP Referral)
Prevents Treatment
· High/Low blood pressure
· Epilepsy
· Undiagnosed lumps, bumps, swellings
· Intoxication
· Allergies
· Perforated eardrum.
· Grommets.
· Cochlear implants
· Infection of the outer/inner-ear.
· High temperature/fever/heavy cold.
· Auricular Cysts
· Recent head or neck injury.
· Pregnancy - within the first three months.
· Children - you must have a doctor’s referral letter.
Restricts Treatment
· Toothache
· Serious medical conditions
· Disorders of the nervous system
· Recent operations/scar tissue
· Bruising
· Sunburn
Prevents Treatment
· Viral/bacterial/fungal infections
· High Fever
· Undiagnosed lumps, bumps, swellings
· Deep vein thrombosis
· Severe varicose veins
· Embolism
· Colitis
· Intoxication
· Allergies - Patch test will be required
Restricts Treatment
· Stroke/Heart Attack (past the acute phase of the condition - requires a GP referral)
· High/low blood pressure (requires a GP referral)
· Heart Conditions (requires a GP referral)
· Thyroid disorders (requires a GP referral)
· Cancer (requires a GP referral)
· Skin Condition - (Eczema, Dermatitis, Psoriasis)
· Pregnancy - within the first three months.
· Recent operations/scar tissue (less than 6 months old)
· Varicose veins
· Medication (some products may have and adverse affect - please mention any medication at the time of booking)
· Migraines
· Severe Bruising
· Sunburn

· Rosacea/Sensitive Skin
· Microdermabrasion/microneedling or chemical peel (within 2 weeks)
· Products/Medications – the following products/medication can make your skin more sensitive and prone to lifting (dead and live skin) which could in turn leave you open to bacteria and/or scarring. It is advisable to discontinue use for a minimum of 3-5 days prior your waxing appointment and to wait 3-5 days after waxing to use them again.
- Alpha hydroxy acids (glycolic, lactic),
- salicylic acid,
- exfoliants (containing acid based products or white willow bark),
- medications for psoriasis, eczema,
- other chronic skin diseases,
- prednisone,
- steroids,
- aspirin,
- blood pressure and blood thinning medications
