At Rose Lily Beauty in Colchester, dermaplaning is a professional exfoliating treatment that gently removes surface dead skin cells and fine vellus hair, commonly known as “peach fuzz”, using a specialised sterile blade.
The treatment leaves the skin feeling beautifully smooth, soft and refreshed, helping to improve the appearance of dullness and uneven texture while creating a smoother surface for skincare and makeup application.
At Rose Lily Beauty, Dermaplaning is combined with LED Light Therapy as part of your treatment, helping to support and calm the skin for a beautifully fresh and radiant-looking complexion.
Your treatment begins with a full consultation, followed by a double cleanse and gentle enzyme exfoliation to prepare the skin.
Dermaplaning is then performed to carefully remove surface dead skin cells and fine vellus hair, revealing beautifully smooth, brighter-looking skin.
A hydrating mask and soothing ice globes help cool and comfort the skin before you relax under 10 minutes of LED Light Therapy.
Your treatment is completed with hydrating skincare and SPF, leaving your skin feeling smooth, refreshed and radiant.
ED Light Therapy is a non-invasive treatment that uses specific wavelengths of light to support different skin concerns. As part of your Dermaplaning treatment, 10 minutes of LED Light Therapy is selected according to your individual skin needs.
Red Light — supports skin rejuvenation and collagen processes.
Blue Light — commonly used for blemish-prone skin.
Yellow Light — helps soothe and calm the appearance of redness.
Near-Infrared Light — supports skin recovery and repair.
This complements your Dermaplaning treatment, leaving the skin feeling calm, refreshed and beautifully radiant.

Will my hair grow back thicker?
No. Dermaplaning does not cause your hair to grow back thicker or darker. It removes fine vellus hair, commonly known as “peach fuzz”, which will gradually grow back as it did before treatment.
Once I start Dermaplaning, do I have to continue?
No. Dermaplaning is completely optional. You can enjoy it as an occasional treatment or incorporate it into your regular skincare routine depending on your individual skin needs and goals.
How often should I have Dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning is typically carried out every 4–6 weeks, depending on your individual skin and treatment goals. Regular treatments can help maintain a smooth, fresh and radiant-looking complexion.
Dermaplaning is suitable for many skin types; however, there are circumstances where treatment may need to be avoided, postponed or adapted.
Treatment may not be suitable if you have:
• Active or inflamed acne in the treatment area
• An active bacterial, viral or fungal skin infection
• Cold sores, open wounds, cuts or broken skin
• Severe sunburn or significantly irritated skin
• An active eczema, psoriasis or dermatitis flare-up
• Recently undergone certain resurfacing or aesthetic treatments
Treatment may need to be postponed or adapted if you have:

• Rosacea or facial redness
• Mild eczema, psoriasis or dermatitis
• Recent significant sun exposure or mild sunburn
• Recently used retinoids, exfoliating acids or other active skincare
• Recently had another facial, chemical peel, microneedling, laser or aesthetic treatment
Please let me know about all medications, medical conditions, allergies, recent aesthetic or skin treatments and any changes to your health before your appointment.
You may be asked to temporarily stop certain active skincare products before treatment. Personalised preparation and aftercare advice will be provided where required.
A consultation will be carried out before your Dermaplaning treatment to assess your skin and ensure the treatment is appropriate for you.
