Following your Micro-needling treatment, your skin may feel warm, appear red or feel slightly sensitive. This is a normal response and should gradually settle as your skin begins its renewal process.
To support your skin following treatment and minimise irritation, please follow the aftercare advice below:
🤎 Avoid touching or rubbing the treated area unnecessarily and always ensure your hands are clean before touching your skin.
🤎 Do not apply makeup for 48 hours following treatment.
🤎 Avoid AHA exfoliating acids, including glycolic and lactic acid, for at least 24 hours.
🤎 Avoid retinol and Vitamin A products for at least 7 days.
🤎 Avoid saunas, steam rooms, sunbeds and excessive heat for 48 hours.
🤎 Avoid strenuous exercise for 24–48 hours, as heat and perspiration may irritate the skin.
🤎 Avoid swimming in chlorinated water for 14 days.
🤎 Do not wax, bleach or use skin-lightening products on the treated area until your skin has fully settled.
🤎 Protect your skin from direct sun exposure and apply a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher every day.
🤎 If wearing a face covering, ensure it is clean to help minimise irritation and bacteria against freshly treated skin.
Looking After your Skin
Keep your skincare routine simple, gentle and hydrating while your skin recovers. Avoid introducing new products or strong active ingredients and follow the personalised skincare advice provided following your treatment.
Do not pick, scratch or exfoliate any dryness or flaking that may occur. Allow your skin to renew naturally.
Your Micro-Needling Journey
For clients working towards a specific skin goal, a course of 3–6 treatments, typically spaced around 4 weeks apart, may be recommended. Your treatment plan will be tailored to your individual skin, concerns and progress.
When to Contact Me
Mild redness, warmth and sensitivity can be expected following Micro-needling. If you experience a reaction that concerns you, or symptoms that appear unusual or worsen rather than settle, please contact Rose Lily Beauty for advice.
